My name is Roy Monden. Welcome to my site!
‘We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.’ – Walt Disney (2007)

If I would only have one word to describe myself, it would most likely be ‘Curious’. Curious about how the world works, and how to make it better, more simple and more efficient. And curious about the techniques that can be utilized to achieve this. I’m curious about what life has to offer, and what I could offer to it. I’m curious about different cultures, different industries, how these work together in our modern day society, and how we van learn from them. In short, I am curious about YOU, and how I can help you to make things better.

How? Have a look below.

Business Consulting

There can be many reasons why you would want to hire a consultant. Maybe you are an aspiring entrepreneur with a great idea, but you are not sure how or where to start. You could already have an existing business, but be temporarily shorthanded, or just lacking the expertise to grow your business in a certain area. You can also be part of a large multinational, and would like to receive an objective and neutral assessment of your performance. Or even want some assistance with designing and implementing a new process or project.

No matter what the reason is, consultants are sometimes the most efficient or effective way to reach your goals.

So right about now, you might be asking yourself “How is this guy qualified to help me with my business?”. Good question!

Over the past two decades, I held multiple positions in both smaller firms and large multinationals, in industries such as Logistics, Fashion, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (‘FMCG’), Life Sciences, Display Technologies, Pigments & Cosmetics, Semiconductors and Pharmaceutics.

Key responsibilities ranged from analysing business performance and controlling up to € 200 million financials, to designing, optimising and reviewing internal control frameworks for >50.000 employee multinationals. Finally, I was also heavily involved in the development and implementation of various process automation projects throughout my career so far.

But don’t just take my word for it. Have a look below at some of the testimonials of my previous employers and clients.

Microsoft Office and Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) Programming

Microsoft Office is the world’s leading office suite, and for good reason. The suite provides a fast amount of tools to help you in your administration, presentation and data collection.

It can help you type out your meeting minutes and company policies, or analyse and monitor your company’s performance figures. It can help you to create your own database to centrally store your company’s sales data and it can even help you put together a considerate birthday presentation with that special colleague!

But there is so much more that can be done using the Visual Basics for Applications (‘VBA’) coding language running in the background.

Using VBA, you can automate entire sales and financial reports to reduce the amount of manual effort and risk of  reporting errors. You can ensure that e-mail communication is sent out to thousands of people with the click of a single button. You can speed up processes and free up valuable time, which would otherwise be spent on performing boring, slow and repetitive tasks! In short, the sky is the limit when it comes to the use cases for VBA.

I have spent the last ten years enhancing my skills as a Microsoft Office Specialist Master and VBA programmer, building sophisticated reporting templates, multi-layered accounting systems and user-friendly process automation tools to help increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of analysis, monitoring and reporting in the companies I worked. And I am certain that I can do the same for YOU! Get in touch with me for find out how.

Computer building

One question I get asked a lot is “Why would I build a computer, when I can buy a fully functioning, ready-made system?”. And the answer is very simple.

Companies selling pre-made systems are, for all intents and purposes, a business. And the goal of a business is still to maximise their profit. As such, a business will try to sell you the cheapest product with acceptable quality at the highest price possible. Further, these systems are fixed configurations, and therefor often not easy to upgrade or re-sell after a few years of use. This is where a custom built system offers more flexibility in the initial construction, as well as more price conscious upgrade and reselling possibilities in the future.

Of course, building your own computer can be difficult. The large amount of components which are available provide almost infinite possible configurations. This is where I step in to assist.

Whether you need advice on a possible configuration or upgrade, or receive a turn-key solution, I am more than happy and capable to support you with over 20 years of monk-like dedication to all things electronic. Whether it is an ‘Internet Machine’ for your parents or young children, a ‘Main-stream’ PC to help with school or work, or a top-of-the-line, hardcore gaming rig for your gaming pleasures, I can help you to find and build the best value for your configuration.

Below are a few examples of system configurations for various needs. If you want more information about these configurations, or want to have a custom system built for you, drop me an e-mail via the contact form.

Besides my professional work, I also have some hobbies! One of those is photography. I think the best terminology to apply here would be an ‘enthusiastic semi-professional’. I mostly take pictures of events, nature, landscape, cities, wildlife and architecture, as well as indulge in astro- and night-time photography. I love capturing special moments, and bringing them to life on the screen. Although professional photography is not my main trait, it is something I am very passionate about. As such,  I will put as much effort, time and attention into my pictures as I possibly can.

Below I have included some of my portfolio work. Please feel free to have a browse, and don’t hesitate to contact me if I could be of service to you in any way.
